Islamabad — arrival & Faisal Mosque

Land in Islamabad before 10 AM. Our guides meet you at the airport and transfer you to the hotel for a light breakfast and a short rest. After lunch we exchange money, then visit the iconic Faisal Mosque — one of the largest in the world — before returning for dinner.

Skardu — flight north & the Cold Desert

An early flight north to Skardu — keep your phone ready, the views of Nanga Parbat from the plane are breathtaking. After a lakeside lunch we settle in for two nights, then head to the Cold Desert (2,226 m) for a jeep ride across the dunes at sunset. ATV rides and paragliding optional.

Skardu — Masur Rock & Kharpocho Fort

A 30-minute jeep ride drops us at the trailhead for Masur Rock — challenging, but the panorama is unreal. (Photos on the rock itself are optional. It is scary.) After lunch and rest, we visit Kharpocho Fort above town, then dinner and an early night.

Fairy Meadows

Depart Skardu around 5:30 AM, breakfast en route. A 4–5 hour drive, then two hours of one of the world’s most thrilling off-road jeep routes. From the drop-off, we hike up to Fairy Meadows, stopping mid-way for lunch. Sunset over Nanga Parbat, dinner and a bonfire close out the day.

Nanga Parbat Base Camp

An 8–9 hour round trip including lunch at the base camp. The hike is long but only moderately challenging, with a few steeper sections. Views of Nanga Parbat the whole way up. Back at Fairy Meadows: a well-earned dinner and a warm cup of chai.

Karimabad — recovery in Hunza

Down to the jeep point, out to the main road, then a scenic drive to Karimabad. We stay in a resort framed by dramatic mountain views. The afternoon is for rest. Karimabad is known for its gemstones and jewellery — some of the best prices in the region, if you’re curious.

Ultar Meadows

A rewarding hike to Ultar Meadows — a viewpoint hemmed in by cliffs and glaciers. Steep in places but the top earns it. Back in Karimabad: a late lunch, an afternoon free for cafés or local handicraft shops, then a local dinner in the evening.

Eagle’s Nest

Slow morning at the resort, then check out around midday. After lunch, we move toward Eagle’s Nest — bus or optional hike, your call. We all meet at the viewpoint for sunset over Hunza Valley, dinner and a bonfire to close the night.

Hapakun Camp

Early check-out, drive to Minapin village for lunch, then the climb to Hapakun Camp — through forest and open mountain views. We arrive late afternoon, settle in, and have dinner in the quiet of the high camp.

Rakaposhi Base Camp

Many say this is the best view of the trip: the Rakaposhi Glacier in full. After the hike and lunch in Minapin, we drive to the homestay in Ghulkin — the rest of the afternoon is free for cards, conversation, or doing nothing at all. Dinner at the homestay.

Baskochi Meadows & Passu Cones

A steep, rewarding hike with views over Attabad Lake. Lunch, then onward to the iconic Passu Cones. The afternoon is for the famous suspension bridge and slow exploration of one of Hunza’s most dramatic landscapes. Dinner back at the homestay.

Lake Attabad

A boat ride across the turquoise waters of Attabad Lake — formed by a 2010 landslide and now one of the region’s most photographed places. After lunch, the long but scenic drive back to Skardu, arriving in the evening for dinner.

Islamabad — farewell

Flight from Skardu to Islamabad with one final look at the mountains from above. This is where we part ways. We don’t recommend booking an early-afternoon departure — domestic flights are known to shift schedules — but an evening international flight or an extra night in Islamabad both work.
